Accessibility Training Partners present Kati Peditto, PhD

Tuesday, October 7, 2025 12:00pm to 1:30pm EDT

Dr. Kati Peditto is a design researcher and speaker specializing in neuroinclusive design at DLR Group. With a PhD in Human Behavior and Design from Cornell University, she translates evidence into practical strategies for designers, educators, and clinicians to create spaces that support neurodivergent individuals. Drawing from her own experiences as an autistic woman with ADHD, she is widely recognized for her expertise in design for mental health and neurodivergence, including features in the BBC, The Atlantic, and The Washington Post. Kati guides how spaces are shaped, ensuring that evidence and lived experience lead together to create environments where people can become more fully themselves. Her research spans education, healthcare, and justice, with a focus on dignity, access, and belonging.

Dr. Peditto will give a talk about the importance of creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for neurodiverse students, including those with autism, ADHD, and other cognitive, social, and behavioral differences. We will explore innovative design strategies that cater to a variety of learning needs and styles, aiming to enhance engagement, comfort, and learning. Attendees will learn practical approaches for transforming classrooms and educational facilities into spaces where all students (and staff!) can thrive and succeed.
