On Thursday, Oct. 24 at 1:45 p.m. in Posvar 4130, Dr. Aiden Warren will discuss "The Australia-U.S. Alliance in the 21st Century: An Australian Perspective."

The US-Australia alliance has been a significant pillar in Australian foreign policy since 1951. The Trump Administration has urged a renewed focus on this relationship but, as this talk will illustrate, the alliance also faces increased debate pertaining to a security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, and within the US about the costs of global leadership. Such debates also need to take into account the tensions that derive from the US’s relationship with China, the region’s strongest power.

Dr. Aiden Warren is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in RMIT's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies, and the 2018 Fulbright Scholar in Australia-United States Alliance Studies. He is the sole author of The Obama Administration’s Nuclear Weapon Strategy, and numerous publications on weapons of mass destruction and global security.
