Pediatric Grand Rounds: Pediatric Stroke: Challenges, Opportunities and New Horizons

Nomazulu Dlamini, MD, PhD, MSc

Associate Professor, Department of Paediatrics

Director, Children’s Stroke Program

The last two decades have seen major advances in the field of paediatric stroke.  However, we  are still unable to answer the questions, ‘Why did my child have a stroke?’, ‘Will they have another stroke?’, and “How will my child do – at school, in life?’ with any precision.  International collaborative networks, large data, advanced imaging and genomics provide opportunities for further transformational advances in the field and an exciting future.
