Provide an overview of current knowledge of the mechanisms underpinning severe therapy resistant asthma and difficult-to-treat asthma in school-age children and outline an approach to diagnosis and management, and to explore the heterogeneity of wheezing disorders in pre-school aged children and provide an update in recent approaches to biomarker based phenotyping to aid management.
