Pain due to CNS impairment can be improved but not cured with medications. This lecture will cover medications and non-pharmacologic management options for chronic symptoms in children with severe neurological impairment. Objectives include:

• Indicate differences between chronic and acute on chronic neurological-pain
• Utilize acute and chronic management strategies
• Recognize care plan strategies for breakthrough symptoms
