Pitt’s Writing Program and Heinz Memorial Chapel present a preview of 3 Sisters, the University of Pittsburgh’s new literary journal celebrating innovative work in text, image, and objects. A selection of poetry from the inaugural issue will be projected on a screen in the chancel at the front of the Chapel, offering a first look ahead of its official release on April 27, 2026.

Inspired by its namesake, 3 Sisters explores themes of threes in many forms: waterways and river systems, triptychs and triads, tercets, sisterhood, mythology, and more. The featured works embrace experimentation, playfulness, and boundary-pushing approaches to storytelling, while uplifting voices historically underrepresented in the literary arts.

Exhibition Dates: Thursday, April 16 – Thursday, April 30, 2026
Open Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 AM – 4 PM
Location: Heinz Memorial Chapel (chancel area)

Please note:

  • Projection teardown will occur on Thursday, April 16 at 3 PM and Thursday, April 23 at 12:30 PM
  • On Thursday, April 30 (MFA Graduation), the projection will remain on view but may be repositioned

Free and open to all!
