2022 Anne C. Sonis Memorial Lecture: What Does a Learning Health System Really Mean?

Keynote speaker Derek C. Angus (BCHS '92) is associate vice chancellor for health care innovation, a Distinguished Professor, Mitchell P. Fink Professor, and chair of critical care medicine, professor of medicine, health policy and management, and clinical and translational science, and executive vice president and chief innovation officer, UPMC.

For more than two decades, this lectureship has honored Anne C. Sonis, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, social worker and faculty at Pitt who had a personal interest in and professional commitment to the idea of assuring every citizen the right to compassionate, high quality health care. Sonis was an initiator and first director of the quality assurance program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC.
